About Hartford Select Baseball
A non-profit youth baseball program developing the whole student athlete in Hartford, WI since 2018.
Our Story
Hartford Select Baseball started with a simple idea: every kid in Hartford who loves baseball should have access to quality coaching and competitive play, regardless of what their family can afford. A group of local parents and coaches came together to build a non-profit program that puts development first and politics last.
Over eight years and more than 150 families later, that idea has become something the whole community takes pride in. Our kids go on to play high school ball, earn scholarships, and carry the lessons they learned here into every part of their lives.
Coaching Philosophy
We believe development happens when kids feel safe to fail and motivated to try again. Our coaches teach fundamentals first: mechanics, footwork, situational awareness, and the discipline it takes to get better at something hard. But we also teach the stuff that does not show up in a box score: how to encourage a teammate who struck out, how to shake hands after a loss, how to represent your town with class.
Every player gets reps. Every player gets coaching. We do not bench kids to win a pool-play game in June. We are building ballplayers who are ready when it matters most, and young people who are ready for whatever comes next.
"We are not building a factory. We are building a program your kid remembers."
Non-Profit, Community-Run
Hartford Select Baseball is a registered non-profit organization. Every dollar raised goes directly to the program: field rentals, equipment, umpire fees, tournament entry fees, and uniforms. There are no paid coaches, no shareholders, and no outside investors. This is a community program funded by the community it serves.
Our board of directors is made up of Hartford parents who volunteer their time because they believe in what this program does. If you want to get involved, whether as a coach, a volunteer, or a sponsor, we would love to hear from you.
What We Stand For
Development First
Winning matters, but not more than getting better. We measure success by how much each player improves over the season, not just the scoreboard.
Community Roots
This program exists because Hartford families built it. We keep it local, keep it accessible, and keep it about the kids.
Every Kid Matters
No politics, no favoritism. Every kid who shows up ready to work gets the same coaching, the same reps, and the same respect.
